First off I'd like to say that AIMChatDirectory.com is not affiliated in anyway with AOL Time Warner.

The sole purpose of this site is to provide accessibility to a user list of chat rooms, both public and private for the AOL Instant Messenger Client.

Anyone who uses this site to find chat rooms, is still subject to AIM's rules and conditions of use.

Who wants access to the AIM Chat rooms you might ask?

Alot of people actually enjoy using the AIM network to communicate with one another.

Quite possibly because of the simple easy to use software, and the large network of users. Not every user is always familiar with the inner workings of internet relay chat. A very large portion of internet users still like using Instant Messaging to communicate. Some older users plain out miss the old days of tightly knit chat room communities of the 1990's dialup networks of AOL, Prodigy, Compuserve, and MSN. Most of the chat room communities seemed to slowly die off as did the networks, like dinosaurs headed for extinction when broadband came around.

Yahoo no longer allows access to private chat rooms on it's network, not to mention the spam on there is incredibly ridiculous. MSN charges for chat room access.

In addition to providing AIM Chat rooms, there are also other features, and tools which come in handy when using AIM, or taking part in the chat rooms.

Buddy Icons, AIM add-ons + Tips, Tools, and Tricks, Security Tools for Windows, Wallpapers, and File Sharing Applications. I'm not responsible for anyone misusing a tool found on my page, causing damage with it, and anyone who does so takes full responsibility for their own actions. This site is if anything a privilege for those that use it, or anything on it.

A little bit about me and who I am.

I've been using computers since 1991. my first pc was a 486 Dx266. With 66mhz of whopping fast speed! Got to love my sense of humor. I grew up using dialup bulletin board systems, and back then it cost $20 dollars or more for an hour for an hour of internet access on 14.4kbps modem.

Wow how the times have changed. The internet's size at the time was only a fraction of what it is today, so to be apart of that was incredible, because the internet in general is certainly much different today. I used to spend large amounts of time on the dial up networks such as prodigy, aol, compuserve, msn, wow! from compuserve, and other miniture networks like powwow from tribal voice, and early icq by mirabilis chatting and talking with all kinds of people while I was growing up.

I would without a doubt characterize the internet at that time as being very similar to the wild, wild west. I was completely absolved in the fringe of the web, H/P/A/C/W scene for quite awhile. Apart of some no-name hacker/wares groups. Which we took part in little cyber wars against one  another internet users and groups. Taking out small networks, pc's, and websites. We used to roam around coding little trojan horses and polymorphic virus' for the sole purpose of taking out enemies, decimating peoples property, phishing...programming, etc.. I suppose my definition of a hacker has changed, evolved, and that is nothing what I would consider a hacker today. None the less, at the time it was something. Silicon Toad, Captain Crunch, and Cult of the Dead Cow to name a few... we're some of my Idols. I eventually ended up in some trouble with the law, went away sporadically, a few times. lost touch with quite a few people, but never the less kept up on my own. I prefer to keep computers now as a hobby, not a career. This way I never get burnt out of them, though it does happen at times.

This site is if anything, just a way of bringing back alittle bit of the past, and keeping the flames buring. Occasionally you will still find me on usenet, irc (rizon, efnet, a few other lesser known servers as well), and various other depths of the internet, that I like to troll around in. I do have a myspace account. I highly doubt i'll approve your request at this time unless you are a smoking hot female. or quite possibly have some other interest in common with me. ;] Other than that everyone else is out of luck until I get a public one up and running for the purpose of this site, and random adds. I'm sure i'll come up with more to write, but right now i'm tired, and my mind kind of is drawing blank. so we'll post this and try again later. If anyone has any questions, or comments, contact me.
